About Holly

I am a dedicated Chess tutor with seven years of teaching experience, helping high school and college students develop strong strategic thinking skills. Over the years, I have successfully guided more than 200 to 300 students in understanding the game and improving their performance with confidence.

My teaching philosophy is simple. I believe chess is not only about winning games but also about learning patience, focus, and smart decision making. I encourage students to think carefully, plan ahead, and understand the ideas behind every move.

In my lessons, I focus on building a strong foundation. Students learn opening principles, tactics, strategy, positional play, and important endgame techniques. I also use real game examples and practical exercises so learners can see how chess ideas work during actual matches.

I make my classes interactive and supportive. Students are encouraged to ask questions, share their ideas, and analyze positions together. This approach helps them think independently and become confident players.

Many of my students have improved their rating, performed better in school chess clubs, and developed stronger analytical skills through regular practice and guidance. Seeing their growth and enthusiasm for the game is one of my greatest achievements as a tutor.

My goal is to help every student enjoy the beauty of chess while steadily building skill, discipline, and confidence both on and off the board.

About the lesson

My teaching approach to Chess focuses on building strong thinking skills, patience, and strategic understanding. I believe chess is not only a game but also a powerful way to develop concentration, planning, and decision making. My lessons are designed to make learning both structured and enjoyable.

I teach the core fundamentals such as piece movement, opening principles, tactical patterns, and checkmating ideas. Students also learn important chess topics like strategy, positional play, endgame techniques, board visualization, and time management during games. I guide learners through classic chess games and famous positions so they can understand how strong players think and plan their moves.

Real life examples and case studies are an important part of my methodology. We analyze practical game situations, mistakes, and winning ideas from real matches. This helps students understand how strategies work during an actual game rather than only in theory.

I believe in teaching with integrity and honesty, encouraging students to learn from both wins and losses. Every mistake becomes a valuable lesson. My teaching style also focuses on collaboration, where students actively discuss ideas, explore different moves, and develop their own strategies.

Empathy plays a key role in my lessons because every learner develops at a different pace. I adapt my teaching style to match the student’s level, learning speed, and goals. Flexibility allows me to design lessons that suit beginners, intermediate players, or those preparing for competitive play.

My goal is to help students think ahead, stay calm under pressure, and enjoy the beauty of chess while steadily improving their skills and confidence.
