About Ishita

My lessons focus on building a strong understanding of key laboratory techniques essential for analytical chemistry. I use a relaxed, practical approach to help students connect theory with real-world applications. Together, we explore instrumental analysis methods such as various types of spectroscopy—NMR, IR, and UV-Vis—and learn how to interpret their results. Chromatography techniques, including gas and liquid chromatography, are also covered in detail to show how mixtures are separated and analyzed. Quantitative analysis is another important area we focus on, emphasizing accuracy and precision in measurements. Throughout the lessons, I explain how these techniques are used in real laboratories and industries, making the content relevant and interesting. My teaching is designed to support students who work in practical fields, helping them understand sophisticated tools that are vital to their work. I break down complex procedures into clear, manageable steps, using examples from chemical engineering and formulation work. This approach builds confidence and skills needed to excel in laboratory environments. By connecting theory with hands-on applications, my lessons bring the lab to life.

About the lesson

With over 7 years of experience tutoring university students, I bring a deep passion for making complex chemistry topics clear and engaging. I hold a BSc in Environmental Chemistry, which gives me a strong foundation in both theory and practical applications. My specialty lies in organometallic chemistry and catalysis—areas that many students find challenging but incredibly rewarding once understood.

I focus especially on metal-carbon bonds and catalytic cycles such as the Heck reaction and Suzuki coupling. These reactions are central to modern synthetic chemistry and play a vital role in producing pharmaceuticals, plastics, and fine chemicals. Using real-world industrial examples, I help students see how these processes translate from the lab bench to large-scale manufacturing.

I have extensive experience working with chemistry majors and chemical engineering students, tailoring lessons to their specific needs and academic goals. Whether you’re struggling with the mechanisms or the applications, I break down each concept into manageable, relatable parts. My approach combines clear explanations, visual aids, and practice problems to reinforce learning.
