About Briar
My interest in Chemistry developed from a fascination with how tiny molecular interactions influence life, nature, medicine, and technology. This passion led me to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Sciences, where I studied physical chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical methods, and laboratory applications in depth. Over the last 7 years, I have taught students from different educational levels and backgrounds, helping them develop stronger understanding and confidence in scientific learning. Teaching Chemistry allows me to combine structured explanation with creative problem-solving in a way that supports meaningful learning experiences. I enjoy helping students transform confusion into clarity through patient guidance and practical examples. My goal has always been to make Chemistry feel approachable and engaging rather than intimidating. Every student learns differently, so I adapt my explanations carefully to fit their pace and learning style. I believe strong teaching involves encouragement, flexibility, and clear communication. Supporting students as they gain confidence and independence remains one of the most rewarding parts of my work as an educator.
My teaching style is centred on patience, structure, and interactive learning. I believe students understand concepts more effectively when they actively participate in lessons rather than simply listening passively. During sessions, I use diagrams, visual breakdowns, real-life examples, and guided exercises to simplify difficult concepts and calculations. I encourage students to ask questions openly because curiosity plays an important role in scientific understanding. Many learners appreciate the calm and supportive atmosphere I create because it helps reduce anxiety around difficult subjects. I also focus on helping students improve study habits, exam preparation strategies, and scientific reasoning skills alongside conceptual learning. Over time, students often become more organised and independent in their academic approach. I enjoy watching learners become increasingly confident as they realise they can understand topics that once seemed impossible. Throughout my teaching experience, I have supported students preparing for school exams, entrance tests, and advanced academic studies. Helping students build confidence through steady progress continues to motivate me deeply.
Outside teaching, I remain actively interested in scientific developments related to healthcare, environmental sustainability, material science, and modern chemical research. I enjoy reading about innovations in renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, and biochemical technology because these fields demonstrate the practical importance of Chemistry in everyday life. Staying engaged with scientific advancement helps me bring fresh perspectives and relevant examples into lessons. I believe students become more motivated when they understand how Chemistry connects to real-world discoveries and future opportunities. Teaching has taught me that academic growth often develops alongside emotional confidence and self-belief. I work hard to ensure students feel supported throughout their learning journey while also encouraging independent thinking and curiosity. My lessons are designed not only to improve grades but also to strengthen analytical thinking and long-term understanding. I take pride in helping learners recognise their own potential through patience and encouragement. Chemistry, to me, is much more than formulae and reactions—it is a fascinating way of understanding the hidden processes that shape our world every day.

Chemistry becomes much easier to understand when students can see how chemical principles influence everyday experiences and natural processes. My lessons focus on building clear conceptual understanding through structured explanation, practical examples, and guided problem-solving. I help learners understand atomic structure, bonding, reactions, acids, equilibrium, and organic chemistry in a calm and approachable way. Instead of memorising isolated facts, students learn how ideas connect logically across different topics. Every session is designed to encourage curiosity while reducing confusion and academic pressure. I use relatable examples from cooking, medicine, environmental science, and technology to make lessons more meaningful and engaging. Students are encouraged to participate actively, ask questions confidently, and explain their reasoning during discussions. This approach helps strengthen both conceptual clarity and long-term retention. I adapt the pace of lessons carefully based on each learner’s strengths and areas requiring additional support. Over time, students develop stronger confidence in handling calculations, equations, and scientific reasoning independently. My goal is to help learners feel comfortable and motivated while building lasting understanding in Chemistry.
Each lesson follows a carefully organised structure that balances theoretical understanding with practical application. Beginners focus on mastering chemical symbols, equations, periodic trends, and simple reactions through visual explanation and guided exercises. Intermediate students develop stronger understanding of stoichiometry, reaction mechanisms, chemical calculations, and laboratory interpretation skills. Advanced learners refine analytical reasoning, organic synthesis concepts, advanced equilibrium, and examination techniques. I include practice problems regularly so students can apply concepts confidently and identify areas needing improvement. Lessons are designed to strengthen accuracy while also encouraging flexible scientific thinking. I believe repetition combined with clear explanation helps students retain information more effectively without becoming overwhelmed. During lessons, I also focus on improving organisation skills, scientific writing, and confidence when solving multi-step problems. Students gradually become more independent as they learn how to approach difficult questions systematically. I encourage learners to understand the “why” behind every reaction and process because deeper understanding creates stronger academic performance. This balanced approach helps students build confidence steadily while improving their overall relationship with Chemistry.
My lessons also emphasise emotional encouragement because many students initially feel anxious about chemical formulae, reactions, and calculations. I work patiently to create a supportive environment where learners feel comfortable making mistakes and learning through practice. Students often begin lessons feeling uncertain but gradually become more relaxed and confident as concepts become clearer. I believe confidence grows naturally when students feel supported instead of judged. My teaching style helps learners develop resilience, patience, and stronger analytical habits alongside academic improvement. I also encourage students to connect Chemistry with future careers in medicine, engineering, environmental science, research, and healthcare. Understanding how Chemistry influences real-world innovation often increases student motivation significantly. Every lesson aims to strengthen both scientific understanding and independent thinking skills. I want learners to feel proud of their progress and capable of handling challenging topics with confidence. Chemistry becomes far more enjoyable when students realise they can understand complex concepts through steady guidance, curiosity, and consistent practice.
