About Ganesh

Hi, I'm Ganesh — a BS-MS Chemical Sciences student at IIT Roorkee, currently doing hands-on research on reaction kinetics and metal-ion detection. Chemistry isn't abstract to me; I use it in the lab every week, and I bring that same practical, concept-first approach into every class.

I prepare every session in advance, explain the "why" behind each concept (not just the answer), and adapt to how you learn best. No question is too basic — most struggles just mean we haven't found the right explanation yet, and that's exactly what I'm here for.

Reliable, patient, and genuinely invested in making chemistry make sense — that's what you can expect from me.

My Approach to Teaching Chemistry

I believe chemistry is one of those subjects that feels impossible right up until the moment someone explains it the right way — and then it feels obvious. My whole approach is built around finding that moment for each student.

How I teach

I teach concept-first, never formula-first. Before we touch a single equation, I want you to understand why a reaction happens — what the electrons are actually doing, what's stable and what isn't, and what the molecule "wants." Once that intuition is in place, mechanisms stop being things you memorize and start being things you can predict. I lean heavily on visual reasoning, analogies, and worked examples, and I'll often ask you to explain a concept back to me in your own words, because that's the fastest way to find the exact gap in understanding.

Structure of a typical class

Every session follows a simple rhythm:

Quick recap (5 min) — a couple of questions on the previous topic to check what actually stuck.
Concept building (20–25 min) — the core idea, explained from first principles with diagrams and real examples.
Guided problem solving (20–25 min) — we work through problems together, and I let you drive while I course-correct, so you build confidence rather than just watching me solve.
Wrap-up and practice (5–10 min) — key takeaways summarized, plus a short set of practice problems tailored to where you struggled.

Classes are conducted online, with a shared digital whiteboard for mechanisms and structures, and I share notes and problem sets after every session so you have something to revise from.

What makes my teaching different

I'm a Chemical Sciences student at IIT Roorkee currently doing thesis research on reaction kinetics and metal-ion sensing — so I teach chemistry as a living, working science rather than a syllabus to be finished.

My real strength, though, is connecting chemistry to biology. Organic mechanisms and inorganic concepts become far more memorable when you see where they actually show up in living systems — nucleophilic attack in enzyme catalysis, coordination chemistry in hemoglobin and chlorophyll, redox chemistry in cellular respiration, hydrogen bonding in DNA. For students from biology, medical, or life-science backgrounds especially, this bridge turns abstract chemistry into something they already have intuition for. It's an angle very few tutors teach from, and it's the one my students find most useful.

Who these classes are for

Anyone who finds chemistry difficult — genuinely. School students (Class 9–12, any board), competitive exam aspirants (JEE, NEET, university entrance), undergraduates in chemistry, biology, biotech, pharmacy or engineering, and adult learners returning to the subject out of curiosity or career need. I don't believe knowledge should be gated by age or academic level, so if you want to learn chemistry, you're welcome in my class.
