I run 1-2 hour sessions for ages 11-16, mainly GCSE maths and chemistry students (foundation and higher). I have a 2:1 in chemistry from the University of Warwick and an A in A Level Mathematics.
My main aim is to get students confident in answering questions, and even those that they may not feel they are capable of. This is the key to success in exams!
My typical lesson consists of using exam paper questions to test knowledge gaps and identify focus areas. Once we’ve established an area of the subject that needs more development, I will go over this until I am confident in the students ability to answer these questions independently.
In the lead up to exam season, I will mainly work on having the student being able to answer a full exam paper and feel confident in completing a paper.

Alex is by far the best maths tutor i’ve ever had i never feel judged for getting a question wrong instead she helps me through it at my own pace until i understand it.Alex also brings enjoyment to our sessions and makes maths enjoyable (something i never thought i would say) i never feel pressured or stressed when she’s teaching me and i would recommend to anyone who is struggling with maths and needs that extra support. 10/10
