About Daniel

I am currently a postgraduate student studying Advanced Chemical Engineering MSc at Imperial College London, where I recently graduated from London South Bank University with a first-class honours degree in Chemical and Process Engineering. I chose a mathematical and computational route within my degree, that covered various areas in maths, chemistry, physics and computer science.

My MSc thesis focused on the creation of thermodynamic models using Statistical Associating Fluid Theory (SAFT) within the Molecular Systems engineering group at Imperial College London. I have also previously worked as an research assistant focusing on the modelling of air pollution around buildings using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) within the MAGIC group (includes University of Cambridge, Imperial College London and University of Surrey).

I also have previous experience tutoring individual and group lessons where I primarily focused on maths as the main subject. I have many students who have met the aspirations as well have changed them for the better. One of my most recent tutees is currently studying aeronautical engineering.

About the lesson

I tutor key stage 3, key stage 4/GCSE and AS/A2 Level .The approach taken in my lessons would include an in depth explanation in certain areas that the student finds difficult. Followed by questions and working through some harder example to deduce their thought process. The aim is to ensure they learn in the way most suited to the individual.

The sessions will focus on improving the student views on the subjects of focus, and showing them relevance of subject. Ultimately leading to the tutee to gain a a broader understanding of themselves regarding their expectation both in their academic achievement, and future goals.
The first free hour is spent assessing the students current status, which includes the academic situation, their goals are and what will be the best approach in studying for the tutor and tutee.

The topics covered in the sciences tend to have key aspects that students should comprehend to be able to achieve mastery. The course is based around this ideology, and thus the course is shaped to each individual to ensure this achieved. As exam season approaches, the course is modified with the strengths of the tutee in mind.

For students wanting the ultimate package for A-Level sciences including mathematics, we offer co-tutoring, where two tutors - myself and Mohammad Ali (available on superprof) - each offer specialised tuition on Biology/Chemistry and Physics/Mathematics respectively. This provides unprecedented attention and support for a tutee, with the expertise of two Chemical Engineering graduates devoted to the tutelage of the individual. This also presents an attractive option for group settings.

Combined tuition, with another expert tutor (search Mohammad Ali on superprof) for 2:1 sessions for a complete package of Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Mathematics: £30/hour in person, plus £5 travel for each tutor (£25/ hour for both tutors for online tutoring, through Skype, Discord, Google Hangouts or Zoom).

Long-term solutions involving a mixture of Daniel and I's tutoring is available, for those wanting different amounts of tuition in Chemistry/Biology and Physics/Mathematics, though note we are versed in all these fields individually.
