About Camila
I'm a chemical engineer form Colombia. I've lived in Canada for the past 3 years pursuing my graduate degree.
Back home, in Colombia, I was the Thermodynamics university tutor, I also taught ESL. Now, I'm the primary instructor of Electrochemistry at the University of Alberta, at an Undergrad level.

In order to describe my teaching method to present hands-on STEM activities, I would mainly refer to the following approaches: Task-Based learning Approach (TBL) and Project Based Learning (PBL) that have contributed me to build my own method. I have found them the perfect match as TBL paves the road to work different tasks to achieve a final artifact which is the last product proposed by the PBL.
Also, I am a firm believer in including current and future research of the different subjects (Health, engineering, etc) to get students excited about all the possibilities they have at hand. Therefore, previous to every session, due diligence is key.
Lastly, listening to what the students want and have difficulties on, gives me and the outreach the opportunity to address them and improve the learning process.
