About Lungelo Mjabulisi

I am a qualified Chartered Accountant of South Africa, CA(SA), with over 14 years of experience in financial management, reporting, auditing and governance. I currently work as Director: Budget and Management Accounting at the University of Zululand, where I lead budgeting, financial reporting, treasury and payroll functions.
My teaching experience comes from UNISA, where I worked as an E-Tutor for the Capstone module in Applied Accounting Sciences. I facilitated weekly online tutorials, developed study resources and supported students preparing for their final assessments. I passed the SAICA ITC in 2013 and the APC in 2016, so I understand what the board exams demand and how to prepare for them.
My career covers the Auditor-General of South Africa, the Independent Development Trust, Richards Bay Coal Terminal and higher education. This gives me practical examples from real audits, financial statements and tax submissions to bring theory to life.
I hold a BCompt, a CTA and an MCom in Accountancy and I am completing a PhD in Accounting at UKZN. I tutor financial accounting, management accounting, taxation and auditing from first-year level through to CTA and board exam preparation.

About the lesson

My lessons are online, live and interactive. Each session runs on Zoom or Microsoft Teams with a shared screen, so you see every calculation and journal entry as we work through them.
I start with a short assessment of where you are. From there I build a plan around your syllabus, whether you study at a university, at UNISA or through a college. I focus on the areas where you lose marks, not on repeating what you already know.
A typical lesson works like this. We review the concept in plain language first. Then we work through past exam questions together, step by step. You attempt a similar question on your own while I watch and guide. We close with a summary of the technique and a short exercise for you to complete before the next session.
I teach financial accounting under IFRS, management accounting and finance, taxation covering VAT, income tax and PAYE and auditing. I cover first year through to CTA and IAC or APC preparation. My method comes from marking real student work as a UNISA e-tutor and from 14 years of applying these subjects in practice, so my examples come from real audits, real financial statements and real tax returns.
Lessons run for 60 or 90 minutes depending on your preference. I provide notes, worked solutions and past paper packs after each session.
