About Brandon

Hey there, don't worry I won't bite. I am currently a computer science student and I teach English speaking, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, AddMaths, and Maths for SPM level in KL.

You can call me Brandon, I may be on this website as a "tutor" but I'll like it more if you treat me as a friend wanting to help you. (If you are reading this as a student of course, but if you're a parent... I guess I can still be a friend if you want to.)

The website is telling me to "Inspire confidence, establish your legitimacy and reassure students of your professionalism." so.. Bear with me, as I'll brag a little bit about myself.

I am that one kid in the class who everyone asks about the exam answer after we left the exam hall, for years. Or if there is an MCQ question paper, it gets borrowed by other students to "match with their own choices" to estimate their marks. That's how much confidence they have in me and my answers.

Back in matriculation, teachers hosted compulsory extra classes for students from time to time, but they specifically told me that I am exempted from it and I can have the free time to myself because they don't think that I need it. A few teachers instead told me that they'd like me to attend it as a helper/teaching assistant rather than a learner, if possible.

For my English on the other hand, here is a little story. I was a student of the COVID-19 era, one that had to endure years of online classes like many others. It was during those times that I was often mistaken as a foreigner, American specifically when I turn on my microphone and spoke in English. Both my matriculation English tutor, and university English tutor, felt weird as my English sounded very much like a native American, without any shred of Malaysian feel to it, it was as if they were talking to a Caucasian. If that sounds great to you, we can work on that together and I'll try my best to impart my English speaking skills, how I learned them, and how to practice them to you.

About the lesson

-Classes only happen on SATURDAYS due to having university classes myself unless otherwise stated (semester breaks).
-I teach using a hybrid of methods based on my own experience and scientifically-proven study strategies.
-Effective memorization method using active recall and spaced repetition.
-The length of a lesson will be a minimum of 1 hour, not exceeding 4 hours inclusive of in-lesson breaks. Different subjects for every separate hour are accepted.
*Had experience working as a tuition teacher in a tuition center.
*Appointed as subject facilitators and teaching assistants in matriculation.
*Praised and often sought help from by peers/friends on explaining subject concepts.
~Biology only for SPM level and below, need the latest study materials provided by the student as the syllabus may be different from my times.

I often ask for his help whenever I came across some problems with my studies as he always get good grades for all his subjects and I admire his skills in teaching others. First and foremost, his speaking skill is one of the best. He is fluent in English and are able to convey his knowledge and thoughts accurately and clearly to his listeners. Besides that, he is also supportive and encouraging in helping others. He has a way to motivate and lead others on a correct path to solve their problems instead of directly giving out the answers or solutions which is a crucial skill as a tutor in my opinion.
