About Lina

Hello and welcome! My name is Lina, I am a professional teacher of Russian as a foreign language (diploma of the Moscow State University), native Russian speaker, based in Scotland, UK. I invite you to start your exciting language journey with me! I am an open-minded, very patient, friendly, supportive and always with good humour.

About the lesson

1. I work with different age groups, from 5 to 75, and different levels, from beginners to advanced. Each lesson is visually vivid and intuitive. You will not need to translate Russian into English in order to learn new words and phrases. 2. In online lessons I use slides with text, pictures and photos, as well as individually selected videos. It helps to make the rules clear and easy to remember. The communicative practice takes up to 70% of the lesson time. It is full of good humour, discussing real life situations or your chosen topic, so that you will never get bored from reading and listening. 3. I also offer face-to-face lessons in Aberdeen at your place or in a quiet and nice café over a cup of coffee. In this format you will have material based and also speaking sessions, discussing everyday life and events. 4. I use both, traditional method with professional books and worksheets, and modern DOGME method, which pumps understanding and speaking as quickly as possible, because it includes your daily life in almost every lesson. I prepare specific material for each student depending on their knowledge, goals or their personal interests. I will take different approaches according to your needs. I always look for the material that will fit your needs better. 5. Learning Russian can be challenging, but you will have no pressure, no rush and with my help you will build confidence and lose the language barrier. I have decades of working experience with professional vocalists, so clear articulation, which I help with, will provide significant assistance in our lessons. This will help you quickly set up and develop sounds and speech in a language new to your tongue. 6. My lessons run for 45 to 90 minutes. Throughout the session, I integrate different activities, breaks, and resources in order to ensure an interactive and dynamic learning experience.
