About Katie
Hi! I’m a patient and supportive tutor with a background in education and psychology, and I’m passionate about helping students feel more confident with reading and writing.
I know literacy skills can feel frustrating or overwhelming at times, so I focus on making things simple, clear, and easy to understand. My goal is to help students build strong foundations in reading comprehension, writing, spelling, and grammar—without the stress.
I tailor each lesson to the student’s needs and learning style, whether they’re catching up, improving grades, or just wanting to feel more confident in class. I keep lessons encouraging and low-pressure, and I always make space for questions.
Most importantly, I want students to feel capable and confident using their literacy skills in and outside of school.

My literacy lessons are all about helping reading and writing feel easier and less stressful. I know these skills can sometimes feel overwhelming, so I focus on breaking things down in a simple, step-by-step way that actually makes sense.
We’ll work on reading comprehension, writing skills, spelling, grammar, and anything else you need support with. I tailor each lesson to the student, whether they’re trying to catch up, build confidence, or improve their grades.
The goal is to make reading and writing feel more comfortable and less intimidating. I keep things patient and supportive, and I always encourage questions—there’s no such thing as a “bad” question here.
Most importantly, I want students to feel more confident using their literacy skills in school and beyond.
