About Aquinnah
My name is Aquinnah Silverman, and I am a trained secondary Social Studies teacher with graduate education from the University of Michigan’s Marsal School of Education. I have experience teaching and supporting students in developing strong skills in history, civics, and analytical writing. My background in both classroom teaching and curriculum design allows me to explain complex topics clearly and help students build confidence in their academic abilities.
I take a supportive and structured approach to tutoring, making sure students feel comfortable asking questions while also challenging them to think critically and improve their skills. I am committed to being professional, prepared, and responsive to each student’s learning needs, and I always tailor lessons to help students reach their individual goals.

Hello! My name is Aquinnah, and I am a secondary Social Studies teacher with graduate training from the University of Michigan’s Marsal School of Education. I tutor middle and high school students in history, civics, and social studies, with a focus on building strong reading, writing, and critical thinking skills.
My tutoring approach emphasizes understanding rather than memorization. I help students analyze sources, organize their ideas, and develop clear arguments.
