About Maria

I am a passionate English educator dedicated to helping students grow into confident readers, writers, and critical thinkers. As a current teacher with classroom experience, I understand that every student learns differently, so I focus on creating a supportive and engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking academic risks.

I specialize in middle school and high school English, including reading comprehension, essay writing, grammar, literary analysis, vocabulary development, and research skills. I also enjoy helping students strengthen their organization, study habits, and overall confidence in school.

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and structured. I believe learning should feel challenging in a productive way, not overwhelming. Whether a student needs help improving grades, preparing for exams, completing assignments, or simply becoming a stronger writer, I work to make lessons personalized, interactive, and meaningful.

About the lesson

I use a student-centered approach that combines direct instruction, guided practice, discussion, and independent application. I break complex concepts into manageable steps and use relatable examples to make literature and writing more accessible. I also incorporate strategies such as:

* Test preparation strategies for essays and reading comprehension

I especially focus on helping students become independent thinkers and stronger writers rather than simply giving them answers.

A typical lesson plan:
A typical lesson usually begins with a quick warm-up or review to activate prior knowledge. From there, I introduce the skill or concept for the session, model examples, and guide the student through practice activities. Lessons often include reading analysis, writing support, grammar instruction, or assignment help depending on the student’s needs. I end each session with feedback, reflection, and a clear goal for improvement. I adapt pacing and activities based on the student’s confidence level and progress.
