About Pia
I currently have just over 2 years of online ESL teaching experience where I have taught students ranging from age 2 – 16, I have experience in one on one classes as well as one on many student classes.
Recently I have started to conduct classes on CC Talk and thoroughly enjoy it!
I have experience in using, Skype, Dingtalk, Zoom, Classin, and CC Talk.
Before I started to teach/tutor online I tutored young (Kindergarten) ESL students in person and have about 2 years’ experience in that as well.
I have previously worked in a jewelry store as well as owning my own beauty salon business, this was until I discovered where my true passion lied, in teaching.
I am very computer literate and have good knowledge of teaching and I am confident in my teaching abilities!

My teaching methods includes interactive method, this is where I like to have students repeat words as many times as it takes for them to memorize them and perfect their pronunciation of the words and sentences, this also includes having students try to say sentences before correcting them!
Positive re-enforcement is a very big part of my teaching methods as I like to make sure that my students enjoy my classes so that it doesn’t seem like work and so that they enjoy learning the English language and want to learn more!
I enjoy creative teaching, using props and letting the children express themselves and explain/talk about how they feel about different words meaning and so forth!
Lastly, and I find this very important, each student learns differently, and because of this, my teaching method adapts according to the needs and learning capabilities of my students.
