About Spencer
I currently work as a casual relief teacher (CRT) in Melbourne, Australia. Before moving here, I taught in Iowa for one year as a substitute teacher and a K–2 music teacher. During my teacher training, I completed student teaching placements in high school band, 5th & 6th grade band, and elementary general music. My main focus is band education, but I also have some experience teaching Piano I and II, choir, and orchestra. I studied choir and orchestra during university, though some of that coursework was impacted by COVID disruptions, so I'm continuing to build experience in those areas.

I aim to build confidence while keeping lessons engaging and productive. Lesson Format: Length: Typically 45–60 minutes (can adjust based on age or subject) Delivery: Online or in-person (depending on your location) Resources: Custom materials, exercises, and feedback tailored to each student Experience & Qualifications: I hold a Bachelor of Music Education with a French minor from Western Illinois University. I’ve taught music across K–12 settings, and I’ve supported students in English writing and French at the high school level.
