* PASSIONATE – I am a lifelong learner, just like you! I believe learning never stops, and I am always looking for ways to improve my teaching skills so I can help you improve your Tagalog, too.

* PATIENT – I understand how challenging learning a new language can be. So, do not worry about making mistakes! I will be patient with you and help you learn at your own pace. You can feel comfortable practicing Tagalog with me.

* YOUR FRIENDLY TEACHER – I want you to feel comfortable talking with me, asking questions, and expressing yourself in Tagalog. Let us learn together and make our lessons enjoyable!

* LOVING AND CARING – Because God loves and cares for you, I love and care for you, too! I want you to feel valued, encouraged, and supported as you learn.

WHAT DO I LOVE?

* READING – I love reading because it helps me gain knowledge and learn new things. I believe we should never stop learning! As your teacher, I want to keep learning so I can share useful knowledge and help you improve your Tagalog more and more.

* LANGUAGE – I am a fan of studying other languages. Doing this has always been enjoyable for me, and it will help me how to understand you about what it feels like to learn a new language that is completely strange.

HOW QUALIFIED A TEACHER I AM?

* CERTIFIED – I have a PREPLY LANGUAGE TEACHING CERTIFICATE to help me guide you in your Tagalog-learning journey. I also have a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) to communicate well with you using the universal language.

* EXPERIENCED – I have four years of classroom teaching experience, helping high school students with their academics. I have also taught kids and adults online, helping them learn English as a second language. And I currently teach Tagalog to an American who lives here in the Philippines for his mission work. I am excited to add you to my students list!

WHAT WILL OUR LESSONS LOOK LIKE?

* STRUCTURED – You do not have to worry about what to learn next! Our lessons will be well-planned and organized to help you improve your Tagalog step by step.

* ENGAGING – You will not just listen to me teach! You will participate in fun activities, games, and role plays that give you plenty of opportunities to practice using Tagalog.

* STUDENT-CENTERED – Your learning goals matter! I will ask what you specifically want to learn and improve, so we can focus our lessons on your needs, interests, and goals. You will also have the freedom to share your ideas and ask questions.

WHAT TEACHING STRATEGIES WILL I USE TO HELP YOU LEARN?

* PPP (PRESENTATION, PRACTICE, PRODUCTION) – First, I will introduce new language concepts and help you understand them. Then, we will practice together through different activities. Finally, you will get to use what you have learned in role plays and other speaking activities. This way, you can practice using Tagalog in real-life situations!

* TTT (TEST, TEACH, TEST) – First, I will check what you already know about a topic. Then, I will teach you through different games, activities, and plenty of practice. Finally, I will check your progress and help you work on anything you still find challenging.

WHAT CAN I HELP YOU WITH?

* Tagalog Grammar – I will help you understand and use Tagalog grammar more confidently.

* Tagalog Vocabulary – I will help you learn useful words and expressions that you can use in everyday conversations.

* Tagalog Pronunciation – I will help you pronounce Tagalog words more clearly and naturally.

* Tagalog Productive Skills – You will practice speaking and writing so you can express your thoughts more clearly in Tagalog.

* Tagalog Receptive Skills – You will practice listening and reading so you can understand Tagalog more easily.

Learning Tagalog does not have to be difficult. It can be enjoyable and fun. Trust me! After all, I am a learner, too. So, I know what it feels like to learn something new, make mistakes, and keep trying. I am here to learn with you and help you feel more comfortable and confident using Tagalog.
