About Li
I have experience as a teaching in both an elementary school, high school, and adult ESL classroom. In addition, I have passed two important teaching exams (Praxis 5362 and 5205). I have also spent time in Central America, learning and develop my Spanish, so I have experience as a second language learner myself. I believe that language learning while it can be intimidating, doesn't have to be. Each learner has skills and abilities that just have to be nurtured and grown in order to develop the confidence they desire.

My lessons are for all ages and will be personalized to the students’ interests. Do you like music, art, food, or travel? I love all of those things! Let’s talk about them. A typical lesson will involve a warmup in the form of a fun but thought provoking question that will spark an interesting conversation. That question always relates to the lesson which builds off of previous lessons. It’s important that lessons are connected. In a unit, the first lesson is introductory and as it progresses, so do the topics and content. Learning English requires four domains that are sure to be developed (listening, speaking, reading, writing). The students will build all of these skills while growing their English fluency and proficiency. In addition, culture is an important part of learning, specifically the culture and backgrounds of the students. The conversations will involve discussing the students' interests and backgrounds.
