About Krupa
As a dedicated educator holding a Master’s Degree in English (MA) and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) earned in India—with full Canadian equivalence verified by WES (World Education Services)—I bring a rich, structured background to elementary education. I have spent years studying not just what to teach, but exactly how children learn best. My goal is to bridge the gap between classroom frustration and "aha!" moments, turning English and Math concepts into fun, manageable steps.
Why Families Trust My Classes:
Globally Trained, Locally Aligned: My advanced degrees are fully recognized in Canada via WES evaluation. I combine rigorous foundational teaching methods with strategies that support the local elementary milestones your child is working toward.
A Safe Place to Learn: I believe that mistakes are just stepping stones to success. I cultivate a high-praise, low-stress environment where your child will feel safe to try, learn, and grow.
The Best of Both Worlds: Whether we are diving into structured literacy and reading comprehension or building strong mental math foundations, I adapt my pacing entirely to your child's unique learning style.
Tutoring is more than just improving report card grades—it is about building the resilience and self-belief your child will carry with them for a lifetime. I look forward to partnering with your family to unlock your child's full potential!

As a mother of a young boy entering University & having raised 2 children myself I am proud to have mastered the skill of not just teaching but positively influencing young minds - here is my intro that would help you better understand if I am the right tutor for your child.
My Teaching Methodology & Techniques:
I believe that at the primary level, learning must be engaging, structured, and building-block based. I utilize a mix of evidence-based practices to ensure concepts stick:
Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) Approach: Moving from hands-on math concepts (like counting items) to visual representations (drawings/charts) before tackling abstract numbers and equations. This ensures deep conceptual understanding rather than just memorization.
The "I Do, We Do, You Do" Model (Gradual Release): I model the math problem first, we solve a few together interactively, and then the student takes the lead to build independent confidence.
Multi-Sensory Approaches: Incorporating colorful visual aids, interactive digital whiteboards, and math stories to cater to different learning styles and build an appreciation for how math exists in the real world.
A Typical Lesson Plan
----------------------------------------------
Because primary students thrive on routine, every lesson follows a predictable, high-energy rhythm:
The Warm-Up:
A quick, fun math game or number-sense puzzle to activate the brain and build rapport (e.g., skip-counting challenges or visual logic riddles).
The Review:
A brief check-in on the previous lesson’s math concept to ensure retention and clear up any lingering confusion.
Core Skill Introduction:
Interactive teaching of the day's objective (e.g., a new addition strategy, understanding fractions, or spatial reasoning) using bright visuals and real-world examples.
Guided Practice:
We tackle problems together. This involves working step-by-step through equations, drawing models, and talking out loud about the "why" behind the answer.
Independent Application & Wrap-Up:
The student tries a short task on their own to demonstrate mastery, followed by a quick celebration of their wins today and a preview of next time.
Building Appreciation & Interest:
-------------------------------------
Lastly, I would like to share that I don't just teach Math; I try to build an appreciation and genuine interest for the subject, transforming "math anxiety" into "math confidence."
Patience & Emotional Safety:
Primary kids don't learn if they are stressed—especially with math. I create a low-pressure, high-praise environment where making mistakes is celebrated as a beautiful, natural part of the problem-solving process.
Tailored Progress Tracking:
No two children learn the same way. I customize every single learning track to the child's specific interests (incorporating things they love, like space, animals, or sports, into our word problems).
