About Elizabeth
I have a Bachelor's degree in elementary education and teaching from Southern Illinois University and have been teaching 1st through 4th grades for 3+ years in Colorado. Due to post-Covid budget cuts, my hours were reduced, and I am looking for further ways to meet and help more students! I also have 3+ years of tutoring experience throughout college and now the present, for all subject areas in elementary and middle school.

I believe that the best way to learn is by applying new concepts to real world scenarios as much as possible, and try to integrate this into my teaching. It makes the content more fun and relevant. I typically use an approach to first model new content, then work together with a student, before having them practice independently with guidance when needed. I make sure to differentiate and reteach prior concepts if needed, or to challenge students further, in order to truly give them what they need.
I feel comfortable tutoring all subjects through the high school level, as well as some college level courses, but I feel the most passionate about math and have the most experience with elementary and middle schoolers.
