About Kylie

My time in the classroom has allowed me to gain a well-rounded experience to have the skills to be able to make any student successful in the classroom! Throughout my teaching career, I have committed to performing with excellence in all that I do. This is evident within my work experience in the entirety of my teaching career.

After my first year teaching first grade, my principals were extremely impressed with my performance and I was asked to take on many additional roles inside of our school. My second year teaching, I became Team Lead, PLC Facilator, and a Data Team Board Member. As Team Lead, I led a group of six additional women in my grade level. The responsibilities of PLC Facilitator included creating an agenda and leading a weekly meeting that discussed the standards we would teach as a team and the timeline of teaching these standards. Finally, as a Data Team Board Member at my school, we would discuss students who may have been falling behind in their grade level. As a team, we brainstorm strategies that will individually benefit the particular student. The combination of these experiences gave me the opportunity to become an effective and well-rounded teacher that gained leadership skills, concrete knowledge of state standards, and familiarity with learning disabilities.

As an art teacher, I was able to spend time with all elementary grade levels! In addition to being in the classroom with students working on art projects, I gave private art lessons. My private art student submitted her piece to the ArtFields Jr competition, and won first place in her age group of 500 other submissions! In addition, my art program always found success in the art competitions that my school entered. Students earned first, second, and third place awards each competition we entered.

About the lesson

Hi! My name is Kylie Siegwald, but my students call me Mrs. “Sieggy!” I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an add-on in Early Childhood! Elementary Education. I have spent time in the first grade classroom, and art classroom teaching grades K-5, and high school! In my free time, I enjoy creating resources, such as hand-outs and classroom activities, for teachers to use in their own classrooms!

As a general education classroom teacher, and an art teacher, I have found a passion in combining both of these skills to make learning fun, engaging, and effective for your students! My teaching experience is something that I believe sets me apart as an educator.

When students come to one of my tutoring lessons, I hope to build a relationship with them, discuss their learning goals, find learning strategies that work best for them, and tackle whatever difficulties they are having in the classroom! I hope to use creative activities to accomplish these goals whether they be art-related, hands-on, an engaging text, or something I have created myself!

I am here to help with Reading, Writing, Math, Phonics, Science, or Social Studies! I am open to being in communication with the teacher so that we can truly act as a team to ensure your student’s success!
