About Melanie
I’m a certified classroom teacher and former university adjunct professor. I have 15 years experience teaching, and also was a tutor at Sylvan Learning Center in 2 different states, both cases becoming Director of Education. I hold a master’s degree in secondary education and some work towards my Ph.D. I believe that all children can learn in the right atmosphere and with the right nurturing.

I present Reading/English/Language Arts in a way that is relatable to every student. I get to know each student, using their personal experience with my subjects to reel them into the learning process without them even realizing that they’re learning. Some of my tools are music lyrics to teach poetry, interesting magazines to foster a love of reading and grow reading comprehension, and journal writing to solidify learning.
