About Oluwasegun

As a passionate and highly qualified Physics educator with over a decade of teaching experience, I am dedicated to helping students unlock their full potential and achieve academic success. Holding a Master’s degree in Physics (Radiation and Health) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, I have a proven track record of preparing students for national and international examinations, including WASSCE, NECO, IGCSE, and A-Levels, with consistently excellent results.

My teaching philosophy revolves around building confidence through personalized learning, ensuring that each student fully understands concepts and feels empowered to apply them independently. About the lesson

My teaching approach is centered on fostering understanding, engagement, and confidence in my students. I begin by assessing each student's strengths, weaknesses, and learning style to tailor my lessons to their specific needs. I believe in active, student-centered learning, using real-life examples, experiments, and ICT tools to make concepts relatable and easier to grasp. I also emphasize critical thinking and problem-solving skills, encouraging students to explore concepts independently and collaboratively.

To ensure retention and application of knowledge, I use a variety of techniques, including:

Breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps.

Encouraging hands-on learning through experiments and practical applications, particularly for Physics.

Incorporating regular assessments, quizzes, and feedback sessions to track progress and address challenges early.

Motivating students with real-world relevance, connecting topics to their everyday lives and future aspirations.

Typical Length of a Lesson
A typical lesson lasts between 60 and 90 minutes, depending on the age, level, and focus of the session. This duration allows for:

1. A brief review of previous material.

2. Introduction and explanation of new concepts.

3. Interactive activities, problem-solving, or hands-on experiments.

4. A summary and discussion of key points, followed by a Q&A session.

For younger students or those with shorter attention spans, lessons are structured with regular breaks or varied activities to maintain focus and engagement.

Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor
I hold a Master’s degree in Physics (Radiation and Health) from the University of Ibadan, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE). Over the past decade, I have taught Physics at various levels, including secondary school students, Cambridge A-Level candidates, and undergraduate students. I have successfully prepared students for national and international examinations such as WASSCE, NECO, UTME, IGCSE, and A-Levels, achieving excellent pass rates and university placements.

My roles as a Physics Facilitator and Department Coordinator have equipped me with the skills to design and deliver effective lessons, manage diverse student needs, and lead collaborative educational initiatives. Additionally, my certification as a Microsoft Innovative Educator ensures that I integrate modern teaching tools and techniques into my classes.

Who Are My Lessons For
My lessons are tailored for secondary school and pre-university students, typically aged 11 to 18. I specialize in:

Preparing students for O-Level exams (WASSCE/NECO/IGCSE).

Coaching students for A-Level and pre-university entrance exams.

Supporting undergraduate students in foundational Physics courses.

Regardless of the student’s level, my goal is to provide them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to excel academically and beyond.
