About Elizabeth

Hi, this is Elizabeth. I'm a native Chinese speaker with a degree in English. I worked as an English teacher at a local school. My core teaching philosophy is perfectly captured by the ancient Chinese sage Confucius: "不启不发" (bù qǐ bù fā)—"I do not enlighten those who are not eager to learn, nor do I inspire those who are not struggling to express themselves." This principle—that a teacher should guide only after a student has grappled with a problem independently—is central to my belief that true learning comes from active thinking, not passive listening.

Accordingly, my classroom is a dynamic space for dialogue, discussion, and collaborative problem-solving. We'll use a variety of tools like songs, movies, role-playing, and games to ensure our sessions are lively, interactive, and effective.

About the lesson

I specialize in preparing students for the HSK exam, Business Chinese, and Tourism Chinese, with a strong focus on oral communication and daily expression. My lessons are interactive, practical, and engaging. You will not only learn new words and structures but also gain the confidence to use them effectively in authentic Chinese conversations.
