About Cristina

Ciao! My name is Cristina and I am a certified Italian teacher. I was born and raised in a small town near Rome but I have spent the last 14 years living in the UK. I am a sociologist, and my background is in journalism and marketing. During the pandemic, I decided to change my career and start a new chapter. I now daily teach students from everywhere, and I have never looked back. Teaching online has allowed me to meet so many different people with very different learning needs, I love being able to support my students in their learning as well as the discovery of the Italian culture.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is relaxed but professional and effective. I tailor my lessons around the student's needs using different kinds of material such as videos, audio, grammar exercises, and more. In our first lesson, we will have a chat about your goals, after which I will be able to make a plan to meet your expectations. The areas we will focus on are listening, speaking, reading, and writing but according to what you like I will be happy to suggest podcasts, films, or books you might enjoy. All students have different reasons to learn Italian but I can also tailor workshops around topics such as: - going to Italy for holidays - going to Italy for work - prepare an interview in Italian - meeting your partner's parents :) and more. I am also experienced in tutoring kids (12+) in international/Italian secondary schools. My qualifications are a DITALS certificate obtained at the University for foreigners in Siena (Italy) as well as a CLTA qualification gained at International House London.
