About Olivia

Working professionals often seek me out to bridge the gap between solo practice and group jams. I am an old-time music specialist.

Over 13 years of performing at festivals across the American South has defined my musical life. That background informs how I mentor grade exam candidates and intermediate learners who need real-world context for their technical work. I focus on scales and arpeggios, tone production, left hand agility, posture and hold, and spiccato and staccato bowing. Playing fiddle is a joy.

I have mentored many students through these specific physical challenges. My approach honors the oral traditions I was trained in at the Old Town School of Folk Music. Music is meant to be shared with others. Let us get you ready for your next local jam session.

About the lesson

Pacing is the secret to steady technical growth. Precision matters above speed. I provide custom scale and etude sheets for each student to ensure we address specific technical hurdles during our time together. My 13 years of experience helps me spot tension in your posture immediately.
