About Keith

I started playing the flute since I was 7. I was inspired by one of my teachers when she demonstrated to flute to me and I have been playing it since then.

Although I was raised in an environment full of competitions, comparisons and high expectations, I understand how important learning in a joyful and stress free environment is. I am grateful that I was not forced to output results during my learning years and I get to enjoy the whole journey, even now.

To me, playing the flute is a way to express your emotions through the pieces that you perform, and I wish to share the joy of playing the flute to my friends.

About the lesson

Keith is a flautist from Hong Kong who has been playing since he was 7. During his years of his journey, he has passed the ABRSM Grade 8 flute exam and Grade 5 music theory.

Keith has taught flute in a secondary school for 3 years, targeting small groups of teenagers with no prior knowledge.

Keith was grown from a place where people have high expectations, but he truly believes that learning in a joyful and happy environment is the way that keeps people learning.

Lessons usually last for 1 hour, and he likes to use interesting ways or daily experiences as a metaphor to make complicated principles easier to understand. He is comfortable teaching for young adults to adults (12 years old or older) with or without any knowledge on flute/ music theory.
