About Jack

I am a focused, passionate, and intuitive educator who believes that every student thrives when given the space to find their own path and work at their own pace. With over two decades of professional creative experience, I bring a unique, deeply artistic perspective to my teaching, helping students unlock their potential in an encouraging and supportive environment.

I am 46 years old, and my journey into professional creativity began at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), where I studied music and graduated in 2004 with a 2:1. Alongside teaching, I am an active musical artist performing under the name Jack Cheshire, and I am currently putting the finishing touches to my seventh studio album. Over the course of my career, I have performed at prestigious venues across the UK and recorded numerous live radio sessions for major broadcasters. A recent highlight includes performing a live session at the legendary Maida Vale Studios for Cerys Matthews on BBC Radio 6 Music in 2024.

I view music as another form of language so I place a heavy focus on the phonetic flow, rhythm, and cadence of English. This unique methodology helps students not only understand the mechanics of English but also naturally absorb its natural tone and expression. I am an experienced, Cambridge CELTA-qualified English teacher based in East London. For the past four and a half years, I have taught solidly at SCL International College in Kentish Town, delivering high-impact language programmes to students of all ages, nationalities, and skill levels. Whether you need to pass an official English exam, communicate confidently in a corporate boardroom, or simply master everyday British English, I provide the rigorous, structured, and supportive training you need to succeed.

What I Specialise In:

- Exam Prep Mastery: Targeted coaching for IELTS (Academic & General) and Cambridge Main Suite exams (B2 First, C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency). I focus heavily on exam strategy, timing, and exactly what examiners look for.
