About Harleen

I am a Computer Science student at Carleton University specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, with a strong academic background in mathematics and problem solving. I enjoy helping others understand concepts that once felt challenging and take pride in explaining topics in a clear and approachable way.

I am patient, supportive, and adaptable, and I always aim to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions. I have experience working with individuals from different backgrounds, which has helped me develop strong communication skills and the ability to adjust my explanations based on each student’s needs.

My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to build their confidence and make learning a more positive and engaging experience.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on making complex concepts simple, clear, and easy to understand. As a Computer Science student specializing in AI and Machine Learning, I break down topics step-by-step and adapt my explanations based on each student’s learning style and pace. I prioritize building strong fundamentals and helping students gain confidence in problem solving.

For math, I focus on understanding concepts rather than memorization. I guide students through problems step-by-step, explain the reasoning behind each step, and provide practice questions to reinforce learning. I also help with homework, assignments, and exam preparation.

For coding and computer science (Python, basic programming, and algorithms), I emphasize hands-on learning. A typical lesson includes:

Explaining core concepts in a simple way
Working through examples together
Practicing with guided exercises
Applying knowledge to small projects or problems

For machine learning and cybersecurity basics, I introduce concepts in an accessible way, focusing on intuition first before moving into technical details. I help students understand how things work rather than just following steps.
