About Holly
I was born in the UK but grew up in Latin America, initially in Argentina and then in Mexico. My mother is Colombian, a country I have visited many times and where I have a large family. All of that has given me a deep understanding of different cultures - and different forms of Spanish.
For my last two years of school, I returned to the UK where I attended boarding school in Norfolk to study A levels in English literature, Music, Drama and, yes, Spanish Language. Throughout the two years, I helped our teacher with Spanish workshops to improve the skills of my fellow students and prepare them for the oral and written exam.
I love the Spanish language, and I want others to love it, too. When taught well, Spanish becomes a joy to learn, not a chore. It is a beautiful and poetic language that holds the key to understanding and enjoying countless different cultures. It enriches travel in dozens of countries, and it has the potential to create friendships all over the world.
I am currently taking a gap year after which I plan to continue my studies at university, taking modern languages. I currently live in Norfolk but plan to move to London when I take up university next academic year.

As a native Spanish speaker, I am fully versed in the language, it’s grammar, vocabulary and idiomatic expressions.
But I also just took my Spanish A level (I got an A*), which means that I am extremely familiar with the mechanics of learning Spanish as a second language, what is required in terms of fulfilling the curriculum and also what it takes to get the highest grade at A level.
