About Melanie

Hi, I'm Melanie, a native Korean speaker in Canada. I help learners start speaking Korean from the very first lesson, even before they can read Hangul, and keep building from there with clear, well-structured grammar.

Every lesson is built around speaking. I teach the grammar that fits your level through speaking practice, so you pick it up naturally instead of memorizing rules. If you'd like to follow a coursebook, we can study it together with personalized materials made just for you. My lessons are fun and interactive, with a variety of activities, so they never get boring.

I've taught students of many ages and levels, and I received an outstanding teacher award from a leading Korean home-visit tutoring program. My after-school classes were always full because students enjoyed them. I'm patient and I prepare every lesson carefully, so every minute counts.

Working at a global IT company and earlier as Korean Air cabin crew taught me to understand people from many countries. I know how hard it is to learn Korean, and I teach with that care in mind.

About the lesson

Every lesson is designed around you, not around a fixed script. Here's how we can work together:

Starting from zero: No Hangul? No problem. We begin with speaking, and I introduce reading step by step.
Coursebook lessons: Already using a coursebook? We study it together, and I create personalized materials so everything finally makes sense.
Grammar you can actually use: We cover the grammar that fits your level and practice it by speaking, so you learn it faster and remember it longer.
Real conversation: Role-plays and free talk about topics you care about, like travel, daily life, or K-culture, with gentle corrections along the way.

A typical 50-minute lesson mixes short explanations, speaking drills, role-plays, and quick review activities, so it stays interactive and never gets boring.

Your first 30-minute lesson is free, so you can see if my style fits you.
