About Alex

Hi, I’m Alex, a university student with a strong background in mathematics and a passion for helping students build confidence in the subject.

I achieved a Grade 7 in GCSE Mathematics and a Grade B in A-Level Mathematics, giving me a solid understanding of the key concepts taught at KS3 and GCSE level. Through my own studies, I developed effective problem-solving skills and learnt how to approach mathematical challenges in a clear and structured way.

I understand that many students find maths frustrating or overwhelming at times, so I aim to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.

My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to help them develop a genuine understanding of maths and the confidence to tackle problems independently. Whether you’re preparing for exams, catching up on difficult topics, or aiming for higher grades, I’m here to help you achieve your goal

My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, goals, and current level of understanding. Whether you’re looking to improve your confidence in maths, prepare for exams, strengthen your foundations, or work towards a target grade, lessons are designed to support your individual learning journey.

I believe maths is best learnt through understanding rather than memorisation. My teaching focuses on breaking down difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps and helping students develop problem-solving skills they can apply independently. I encourage questions and create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them.

Lessons typically include a combination of worked examples, guided practice, exam-style questions, and techniques for approaching challenging problems. I also focus on identifying and addressing knowledge gaps to build a strong foundation for future topics.
