About Jules

Hi, I'm Jules, a second year medical student at Cambridge. Having earned a First Class mark in my first year, and with strong previous academic performance, I aim to bring both subject expertise and an engaging, supportive approach to every session. Over the past two years, I’ve guided students through the medical school application process, keeping my knowledge of admissions policies and expectations thoroughly up to date.

I have helped students achieve section averages above 820 in their UCAT, and have helped boost scores in weakest sections to 800+ and Band 2/3 SJT scores to Band 1 (98th Percentile). All of my students so far have achieved section averages above 790.

I have particular expertise in: UCAT, helping students find + research stand-out supercurriculars; medical ethics; and tactical applications to medical school (including with high UCAT scores).

I achieved:
- 3360 (840 average) B1 UCAT placing me in the top < 0.1% of test takers
- 4/4 Medical School offers, including from Cambridge and Edinburgh
- A*A*A* in Biology, Chemistry and Maths A-levels - averaging 10% above the A* grade boundary
- (concealed information) at GCSE

About the lesson

I use a highly effective, personalized teaching approach designed to meet each student’s unique needs. By starting with a thorough assessment, I identify strengths and areas for improvement to craft a targeted lesson plan that emphasizes exam techniques and consistent practice. With focused exam practice and tailored homework, my method ensures students build confidence, master core concepts, and achieve outstanding academic results.

I am happy to focus on a single aspect of the medical school application process with a student, or to help them across a wide range of areas. My lessons tend to be 1-2hrs once per week, but I am happy to offer alternatives, including more frequent sessions in a 'crash-course' style.
