About Matthew
Hi, I'm Matthew, a second year Engineering student at the University of Cambridge. Before Cambridge I studied Further Maths, Maths, Physics and Chemistry at The Perse School achieving 4 A*'s.
I started tutoring because I enjoy being able to help students when they are stuck on problems or topics, and I remember how grateful I was for the help and guidance when I was in your position.
I will plan each session in advance where possible, to accommodate for your goals, and will also track your progress, so we know what to focus on next. I will also make sure that if I ever need to reschedule, I will give you plenty of notice.
Outside of my studies, I play rugby for the university and used to also play in the Northampton Saints Academy which has taught me a lot about discipline. I also enjoy playing the piano, achieving my grade 8 in year 9, and performing with orchestras in front of world-renowned judges. This can help me explain how concepts in physics and maths apply to the real world

Hi, I'm Matthew, an Engineering undergraduate at the University of Cambridge. Recently I was in a similar position to you, working through my A-levels in maths, physics and chemistry whilst also preparing for an admissions test and interviews. I know what it takes, and I know that the most valuable part through all of it was my tutor at the time so I want to have the opportunity to provide the same help and knowledge I gained along the way.
I am looking to teach up to and including A-Level Maths and Further Maths and also GCSE Physics. I would also be willing to help students that are applying for Engineering at Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial or any other competitive universities that require tests and interviews.
My lessons would usually be 1hr long, and for a first lesson I would love to go through the subject you want to be tutored in and understand your position better, what topics you struggle with and which you excel with, so that we can more effectively use the time we have together. I would also be able to draw on my own personal experience for applying to universities, from choosing a college to helping show your interest in subjects in your personal statement.
