About Delia
I'm currently in my third year studying Psychological and Behavioural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, and I'm passionate about helping students not just improve their grades, but genuinely feel more confident in themselves.
I believe one of the biggest advantages I offer as a tutor is that I've been through these exact exams myself, and recently. I know exactly what it feels like to sit in that exam hall, and I understand the specific pressures GCSE and A-level students face today. Because of this, I can share the real materials, techniques and strategies that helped me achieve top grades, rather than generic advice.
Tutoring made a huge difference in my own academic journey, and interestingly, it wasn't always about going over content again and again. Often, what helped most was having someone in my corner who believed in me and gave me the confidence to trust my own ability. That's something I try to bring to every student I work with: a supportive, patient presence alongside clear, practical exam guidance.
I'm hoping to become a child psychologist, so understanding how young people think, learn and build confidence isn't just part of my job as a tutor, it's something I'm genuinely passionate about and hope to build a career around. I take real care in every session to make sure students feel supported, understood and equipped to succeed.

My main focus is making sure every student has a clear plan in place, so they feel confident we can cover everything we need to in the time we have. I believe structure and organisation are the key ingredients to excelling in exams - without a plan, even the most knowledgeable student can underperform.
A big part of my teaching philosophy is treating exams less like a test of memory and more like a game with its own set of rules. Rather than trying to memorise everything, we focus on learning how to "play the game" with the examiner - understanding what they're really looking for, how marks are awarded, and how to structure answers to maximise every point. This approach helps take the pressure off rote memorisation and instead builds genuine exam technique and confidence.
I always start with a preliminary session with the student (and parent, if helpful) to walk through the different methods and strategies I use, and to discuss together what approach would work best for that particular student. From there, every lesson is tailored to the individual - the structure is flexible, so we can adapt the session depending on what's needed that week, whether that's exam practice, topic revision, or working through specific problem areas.
Sessions typically run for 1 hour, though this can be adjusted depending on the student's needs and preferences.
I have three years of experience tutoring GCSE English and Sciences with excellent, consistent results, and I'm particularly experienced in A-level Psychology tutoring. I'm comfortable teaching across all GCSE subjects too. I've also worked at a special needs school, so I have hands-on experience and confidence supporting children with additional needs.
I tutor students aged 6 to 17, covering GCSE and A-level. My lessons are suited to a wide range of learners - from those who need extra support and a patient, adapted approach, to students aiming for top grades who want sharper exam technique.
