About Yuhui

I am currently in my 5th year of studying Medicine at the University of Cambridge. No other course combines my interest in the intriguing details of the human body and my wish to use my knowledge to help others in a way as perfectly as Medicine at Cambridge and that is why I have chosen it. The experiences of teaching English abroad and mentoring GCSE sciences and maths since my gap year have made me sure that teaching is something I truly enjoy and would like to continue with. Having successfully been through the application process for Oxbridge and medical schools, I understand how daunting it can seem. So I would like to use my personal knowledge of the process, research I have done at the time and my experiences studying at Cambridge to help others currently in the same situation as myself five years ago.

Teaching Experiences:
Medicine admissions tutoring online (oxbridge, interview, admission tests including BMAT, UCAT, general advice) since 2017
Current college supervisor for Cambridge university Human Reproduction course ( second year Cambridge medical students )

In my spare time, I like dancing and am part of the university oriental dance society. Yoga and Badminton are my other two hobbies helping me through the busy lifestyle at Cambridge. I also enjoy working as the student recruitment officer for WeAreDonors, a regional branch of a national charity for organ donation. I have a particular interest in the study of human immunology, cancer and genetics, and have relevant laboratory experiences.

About the lesson

Personalised and flexible.
I believe tutorials are a collaborative effort. The student and I together set the goals we wish to achieve from the very beginning and that is why the first meeting session is so important. I will make sure to help my students identify the areas they want to work on and on this basis, break down the overall goal into small, manageable objectives to be fulfilled through each of the individual tutorials. From my experience, I found this helped the students stay focused and motivated.

My sessions will be entirely personalised and I am prepared to adapt my teaching style to the students' preferences. I will track the students' progress through reviewing the set objectives at the end of each tutorial and ask my students to demonstrate their understanding. I'm prepared to use my own experiences of medical school application and many years of tutoring experiences
