About Holly
I graduated with First Class Honours in a BA in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge. Throughout my career, I have always remained closely involved in education. Between 2023 and 2025, I worked as a Mathematics teacher at Queen Elizabeth’s School, Barnet, where I taught and supported high-achieving secondary school students. Alongside this, I have also been providing private tutoring through Conbridge and Helios Education, two tutorial centres based in Shenzhen and Hong Kong respectively. My tutoring mainly focuses on helping high school students strengthen their Mathematics and prepare for applications to G5 universities in the UK.
From 2025 to 2026, I worked as a Quantitative Trader, where I applied advanced mathematical reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills in a highly competitive environment. However, throughout this period, I continued tutoring and found that teaching Mathematics remained the part of my work that I enjoyed and valued the most. This realisation led me to pursue tutoring full time, allowing me to dedicate myself fully to helping students develop their mathematical ability and confidence.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy playing board games, which I believe can help develop logical thinking and problem-solving skills while keeping learning enjoyable. I also enjoy creating games using Unity in my spare time. Ultimately, I believe that the learning process should be both rewarding and enjoyable, and I hope to inspire students to develop the same enthusiasm for Mathematics that I have.

Firstly, I tailor both my teaching materials and pace according to each student’s ability and learning style. A teacher’s role is not simply to cover the syllabus, but to ensure that students genuinely understand the concepts and are progressing at an appropriate pace.
Secondly, I place great emphasis on the structure and clarity of explanations. Some mathematical ideas may appear intuitive to certain students but can be challenging for others. Therefore, I aim to present concepts in a logical and accessible way, allowing students to build confidence and develop a deeper understanding.
Finally, I regularly check my students’ understanding through exercises, discussions, and interactive activities. I believe that active engagement is essential for effective learning, and I encourage students to ask questions and think critically rather than simply memorising methods.

Holly tutored me for A Level Pure Maths. She is incredibly patient and explains even the most challenging topics in a clear and easy-to-understand way. She helped me develop a much stronger understanding of the subject, and I always felt comfortable asking questions. Thanks to her support, I achieved an A* in the end. I would highly recommend Holly to anyone looking for an excellent maths tutor.
Holly tutored my daughter for GCSE Maths. She really enjoyed her lessons, gained confidence in the subject, and has chosen to study Further Maths at A level. I would highly recommend Holly as a tutor.
Holly is currently tutoring me for the TMUA, and her lessons have been incredibly helpful. She breaks down difficult concepts into manageable steps and teaches effective ways of tackling challenging problem-solving questions. She is always patient, encouraging, and happy to answer any questions, making every lesson productive and enjoyable. I already feel much better prepared for the exam and would definitely recommend Holly to anyone preparing for the TMUA.
