About Marcus
I am a Guitar tutor with more than 7 years of experience teaching college students. My approach is creative, interactive, and student-focused. I aim to make learning Guitar fun, engaging, and productive. I cover chords, scales, music theory, improvisation, and songwriting. I encourage students to compose music, perform, and explore their unique style.
I also use interactive exercises, play-along tracks, and digital tools to make lessons dynamic. I personalize lessons to each student’s goals and pace. I focus on building technical skills, confidence, discipline, and creativity. Seeing students progress, perform, and enjoy music is my greatest reward. My goal is to make every lesson inspiring, practical, and a step toward mastering the Guitar.

My guitar teaching approach emphasizes creativity, critical thinking, and mentorship. I encourage students to explore music, improvise, and create their own compositions. This approach develops both technical ability and personal expression, allowing students to discover their unique musical voice.
I also stress accountability. Students set goals, maintain practice routines, and monitor their progress. This helps them grow steadily, stay motivated, and build confidence in their abilities.
In addition to guitar, I can teach music theory, rhythm, ear training, and songwriting. Lessons are engaging, interactive, and customized to each student’s learning style. My aim is to make learning music enjoyable while developing skilled, confident, and creative musicians.
