About Asmaa
Hi there! I'm Asmaa, and I'm excited to help you with precalculus. I've been tutoring for over 10 years and love seeing students gain confidence in math.
I have a background in Business Administration, and I believe that everyone can improve with the right support and practice. My goal is to make math less intimidating and more enjoyable. I like to focus on the areas where you feel stuck, breaking things down into simpler steps and working through problems together.
When I’m not tutoring, I enjoy cooking, hiking, and watching movies. I think it’s important to have fun while learning, and I’m looking forward to helping you succeed in precalculus!

Lesson Plan: Precalculus Tutoring Session
Objective: To identify and address students' struggles in precalculus topics, improve understanding, and build confidence in problem-solving.
Duration: 1.5 - 2 hours
Materials Needed:
- Notebook and pen/pencil
- Graphing calculator (if applicable)
- Printed worksheets or problem sets
- Access to online resources for supplementary materials (e.g., Khan Academy, Desmos)
Lesson Outline:
1. Beginning Test - Identify Struggles (15 minutes)
- Administer a short diagnostic test or quiz covering key precalculus concepts (functions, trigonometry, polynomial equations, etc.).
- Analyze the results together to identify specific areas of difficulty.
2. Review Material and Other Related Coursework (25 minutes)
- Discuss relevant concepts from previous coursework that may be affecting performance (e.g., algebraic foundations).
- Use examples to illustrate these concepts and their importance in precalculus.
- Answer any questions the student has regarding prior materials.
3. Focus on Struggling Areas and Repeat Work Problems (40 minutes)
- Select 2-3 key topics where the student showed difficulty during the diagnostic test.
- Present targeted exercises for each topic, fostering a step-by-step understanding.
- Encourage the student to explain their reasoning as they work through problems.
- Provide immediate feedback and alternative approaches as needed.
4. Interactive Problem-Solving (20 minutes)
- Engage in collaborative problem-solving: work through a challenging problem together, discussing each step aloud.
- Introduce different methods to solve the same problem (e.g., graphical vs. algebraic solutions).
- Use technology, such as a graphing calculator or online graphing tool, to visualize functions or equations as applicable.
5. Practice Assignment and Resources (10 minutes)
- Assign additional practice problems tailored to the student’s struggling areas with a focus on gradual increase in difficulty.
- Recommend online resources or videos for further study and practice.
- Encourage them to reach out with questions before the next session.
6. Closure and Reflection (10 minutes)
- Summarize key concepts covered during the session.
- Ask the student to reflect on what they learned and what they still find challenging.
- Discuss goals for the next session (e.g., concepts to focus on and practice).
