About Sumaiya
A self-professed English aficionado, I believe education empowers people, especially language education which unlocks access to more resources and bodies of knowledge.
Other than making the grade for examinations and standardized testing, language education (English, in my case) should also enable confident communication and self-expression for the learners. This is what I aim to do for my students in my classes.
When I am not teaching or tutoring, I divide my time between the demands of my corporate work in the private sector and spending time with my cat, Bear.

Sessions are scheduled for 60 - 90 minutes for secondary-level students.
Lessons typically focuses on one-on-one revision of student's syllabus with focus on (1) student's requirement (in terms of topics/skills) (2) frequent spontaneous practice/exercises/drills during session.
For English learning, external/real life texts or media are used as stimulus for lessons, especially in speaking and listening.
Have casually tutored for about two years, typically short-term for exam preparations.
