About Arushi

Hi! I’m Arushi

I absolutely love helping young children discover the magic of reading and writing.

I believe children learn best when they feel curious, comfortable, and excited to participate. My sessions are therefore interactive, playful, and tailored to each child rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

I take the time to understand how each child learns, what they already know, and where they need a little more support. From there, we build their skills step by step through stories, games, conversation, sounds, words, reading, and writing.

Whether your child is just beginning to learn their letters and sounds, is working on blending and reading, or is ready to start writing their own sentences and stories, I aim to make every session feel achievable and enjoyable.

Most importantly, I want children to leave each session thinking:

“I can do this!”

I’d love to help your child grow into a confident reader, writer, and communicator.

About the lesson

From Sounds to Stories

Learning to read and write should feel exciting, empowering, and achievable.

I offer personalized 1:1 online Reading, Writing & Phonics sessions for children aged 3–7, helping children develop the foundational skills they need to become confident, independent readers and writers.

With 10+ years of experience in Early Years education and a postgraduate qualification in Early Years Education from UCL London, I create playful, purposeful sessions that meet each child exactly where they are.

What we will work on?

Phonics & Phonological Awareness
Building secure, sound knowledge, hearing sounds in words, and understanding how sounds connect to letters.

Reading
Blending, segmenting, decoding, word recognition, fluency, and comprehension.

️ Writing
Letter formation, handwriting, spelling, encoding, writing words, and gradually building sentences and ideas.

️ Language & Vocabulary
Because strong readers and writers need strong language foundations too.

Thinking & Comprehension
Understanding, predicting, explaining, making connections, and expressing ideas.

️ Confidence & Independence
Helping children develop the confidence to have a go, make mistakes, and work things out for themselves.

What makes my sessions different?

I don't believe children learn to read and write through endless worksheets or repetition.

Sessions are interactive, play-based, and carefully structured, using stories, games, conversation, movement, word play, and purposeful writing experiences.

Most importantly, I adapt the session to the individual child. I look at what they already know, identify the next step in their learning, and build from there.

Whether your child is just beginning to recognize letters and sounds, is learning to blend and read simple words, or is ready to write their own sentences and stories, sessions are tailored to their stage.

Who are the sessions for?

These sessions are suitable for children aged 3–7 who are:

• beginning their reading and writing journey

• learning phonics and early word reading

• finding blending or segmenting difficult

• developing handwriting and spelling

• beginning to write sentences

• needing extra confidence and practice

• ready for a little more challenge and extension

My goal is not simply to teach a child to read a list of words or write a sentence.

**It is to help them become confident communicators who can read, write, think, and express their own ideas.**
