About Lauren

I am Lauren a dedicated Mathematics tutor based in Austin, Texas, and I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics! I have 9 years of tutoring experience working with K-12 students, including elementary learners who are developing their first mathematical foundations, middle school students facing more advanced concepts, and High School students preparing for important examinations! My academic background has given me strong preparation in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Statistics, and mathematical reasoning! During my university years, I participated in mathematics workshops and peer-learning programs where I discovered how much I enjoyed helping students approach difficult problems from different angles! I have also guided students through school projects involving budgeting, measurements, probability, data interpretation, and mathematical modeling! My teaching style focuses on understanding the thinking behind an answer rather than memorizing formulas without knowing when to use them! I patiently identify learning gaps, explain concepts using age-appropriate examples, and gradually introduce more challenging questions as students become comfortable! I have helped learners improve classroom performance, complete assignments more independently, prepare for tests, and develop a much stronger attitude toward Mathematics! I want every student I teach to feel that Mathematics is something they can understand, practice, and eventually enjoy!

About the lesson

I create personalized Mathematics lessons for Junior School, Middle School, High School, and early College students who want to strengthen their foundations or move confidently into advanced topics! Each lesson begins by identifying what the student already understands and where confusion begins, allowing me to create a learning path that matches their individual pace! For younger students, I use puzzles, shapes, number games, measurement activities, patterns, and everyday situations to make mathematical thinking enjoyable and meaningful! Middle School learners can work on fractions, decimals, ratios, equations, percentages, geometry, statistics, and introductory algebra through guided examples and interactive problem-solving! High School students can receive deeper support in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, probability, and statistics, including preparation for school examinations and major assessments! I bring real-world Mathematics into lessons through examples involving shopping discounts, sports statistics, travel distances, personal budgeting, construction measurements, and data analysis so students can recognize why mathematical skills matter outside school! I provide assignment assistance by helping students understand the method, organize their work, identify mistakes, and develop solutions independently rather than simply giving answers! Exam preparation includes targeted revision, timed practice, mistake analysis, formula organization, and strategies for handling unfamiliar questions calmly! I also maintain progress notes so students and parents can see which skills have improved and what should be practiced next! My interactive sessions are designed to build accuracy first, then speed, confidence, and independent problem-solving ability!
