About Angie

Hello! My name is Angie, and I am a 3rd year Bachelor of Science (BSc) student at UCT majoring in Genetics and Human Anatomy and Physiology. I have a strong passion for Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, and I genuinely enjoy helping students gain confidence and succeed in these subjects.
I understand that every student learns differently, which is why I tailor each lesson to suit the individual's pace and learning style. My aim is to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing a deep understanding of the work rather than simply memorising it.
I pride myself on being patient, approachable, kind, and capable of helping a student understand their work no matter how long it takes and help them stop stressing so much. Whether you're struggling with a particular topic, preparing for an important exam, or aiming to improve your overall results, I am committed to helping you achieve your goals. I can teach topics from the ground up, explain difficult concepts in a simple and logical way, help create summary notes and study plans, and guide you through worked examples and past papers to build both understanding and confidence.

About the lesson

I believe every student is capable of succeeding with the right guidance and support. My goal is not just to help students complete homework or prepare for tests, but to help them genuinely understand the concepts they are learning. I break down difficult topics into simple, easy-to-follow steps, ensuring that students build a strong foundation before moving on to more challenging work. Whether you're learning a topic for the first time or revising for exams, I can teach concepts from scratch and adapt my explanations to suit your learning style.
My lessons are patient, interactive, and tailored to each student's individual needs. I can help with understanding new topics, revising difficult concepts, completing homework and assignments, preparing for tests and exams, and improving overall confidence in the subject.
Depending on what you need, I can also:
Teach an entire topic from the beginning.
Create clear, concise summary notes that make revision easier.
Help develop a personalised study timetable and revision plan.
Work through examples step by step until you feel confident.
Practise with past papers and exam-style questions while teaching effective exam techniques.
Identify areas of weakness and focus on improving them.
I tutor Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in English. During a typical lesson, we'll identify your goals, work through concepts together, practise plenty of questions, and make sure you fully understand the material before moving on. I encourage students to ask as many questions as they need, and I aim to create a relaxed, supportive environment where learning feels enjoyable rather than stressful.
My lessons are suitable for primary school and high school students who want to strengthen their understanding, improve their marks, or achieve top results. My aim is to help every student become a more confident, independent learner.
