About Tanja
I am a Bachelor of Science graduate. At school level I never imagined saying that as I loved biology but sciences was not always my go to subject. At University level my eyes opened for the first time as I had a great first year chemistry prof and things that never made sense in high school finally just clicked. I wish I had my first year prof as a high school teacher. I want to be someone that can make this happen for you at school level already as a teacher plays a major role in understanding concepts. I promise you when you look back you will be shocked at how you did not understand certain concepts right away.

As a student that did not get everything right away without some extra effort I usually know what the concepts are that student struggle with. I like to take the approach of ensuring that students know the basics first and build from there. I consider myself the teacher that I wish I had to just whisper a basic concept in your ear that could lead to a major breakthrough when it comes to sciences. I teach in Afrikaans and English. In a lesson I want the student to tell me what they are struggling with so I can focus on it. I am big on prepping so students can expect a well prepared session.
