About Esha

About Me – Esha Verma

My name is Esha Verma, and I have a strong academic background in Economics. I pursued my M.Sc. in Economics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Economics.

I teach a range of subjects, including Econometrics, Statistics, Microeconomics, Development Economics, and Accountancy. My academic background enables me to approach these subjects with a strong focus on conceptual clarity, analytical reasoning, quantitative techniques, and practical applications.

My teaching methodology is student-centered and focuses on making complex concepts simple, engaging, and easy to understand. I conduct online classes through Zoom and use a digital blackboard to explain economic theories, mathematical equations, statistical methods, graphs, and numerical problems step by step.

In Econometrics and Statistics, I help students understand quantitative methods, solve numerical problems, and interpret statistical results. In Microeconomics, I focus on economic theories, graphical analysis, consumer behavior, production, and market structures. In Development Economics, I explain economic growth, poverty, inequality, and development policies using theoretical frameworks and real-world examples. I also teach Accountancy, emphasizing accounting principles, journal entries, ledger accounts, financial statements, and numerical problem-solving.

I carefully plan each lesson according to students' academic requirements and learning pace. My online classes incorporate interactive discussions, practical examples, problem-solving exercises, and regular assessments to ensure effective learning and continuous improvement.

I believe that successful teaching involves more than delivering information; it requires building students' confidence, encouraging independent thinking, and developing a deep understanding of the subject. My goal is to create a supportive and engaging online learning environment that helps students strengthen their academic foundations and achieve their educational goals.

My Lesson Planning and Teaching Approach in Economics Through Zoom and a Digital Blackboard

My approach to lesson planning focuses on delivering well-structured, interactive, and student-centered online classes in economics through Zoom and a digital blackboard. I plan each lesson according to the subject, learning objectives, and students' learning needs. My aim is to make complex economic theories, mathematical equations, statistical methods, and graphical concepts easier to understand through clear explanations and practical examples.

1. Lesson Planning for Econometrics

For econometrics, I prepare lessons that combine economic theory, statistical techniques, and practical data analysis. I organize topics such as regression analysis, hypothesis testing, correlation, estimation, and interpretation of econometric results in a logical sequence.

During Zoom classes, I use the digital blackboard to write equations, explain statistical concepts step by step, demonstrate regression calculations, and interpret model outputs. I also share my screen to demonstrate relevant statistical software and guide students through practical exercises. I encourage students to ask questions and solve problems during the session.

2. Lesson Planning for Statistics

For statistics, I plan lessons covering descriptive statistics, probability, probability distributions, sampling, estimation, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing. I begin with basic concepts and gradually introduce more advanced techniques, ensuring that students understand the reasoning behind each formula.

Using Zoom and a digital blackboard, I explain formulas, work through numerical problems, draw graphs, and demonstrate calculations. I also use screen sharing and spreadsheet-based examples, where appropriate, to show how statistical methods can be applied to real-world data.

3. Lesson Planning for Microeconomics

For microeconomics, I prepare lessons on demand and supply, elasticity, consumer behavior, production theory, costs, market structures, and price determination. I structure each class around key concepts, graphical analysis, numerical examples, and practical applications.

The digital blackboard is particularly useful for drawing demand and supply curves, explaining shifts in curves, illustrating equilibrium, and analyzing consumer and producer behavior. Through Zoom, I share examples, interact with students, answer questions, and provide practice exercises to strengthen their understanding of economic theories.

4. Lesson Planning for Development Economics

For development economics, I plan classes on economic growth, poverty, inequality, unemployment, human development, population, education, health, and sustainable development. I use theoretical frameworks alongside real-world examples to help students understand the challenges faced by developing economies.

During Zoom sessions, I use presentations, charts, graphs, and screen sharing to explain development indicators, compare countries, and discuss economic policies. I also use the digital blackboard to illustrate models and frameworks, encouraging students to think critically about development strategies and their economic and social consequences.

5. My Method of Conducting Online Classes Through Zoom

I follow a systematic approach to planning and delivering each online lesson.

- Before the class: I prepare lesson objectives, lecture notes, presentations, numerical exercises, and relevant teaching materials. I also check my internet connection, webcam, microphone, Zoom settings, and digital blackboard.
- Introduction: I begin by reviewing the previous lesson, assessing students' prior knowledge, and explaining the objectives of the current topic.
- Concept explanation: I use the digital blackboard to write definitions, equations, formulas, diagrams, and graphs step by step, allowing students to follow the lesson clearly.
- Practical demonstration: I share my screen to present slides, demonstrate statistical software, analyze data, or work through numerical problems.
- Student interaction: I encourage students to ask questions, participate in discussions, solve exercises, and share their reasoning during the Zoom session.
- Revision and assessment: At the end of the class, I summarize the main concepts, clarify difficult areas, and provide practice questions or assignments.
- Follow-up: I review students' performance and feedback, identify learning gaps, and adapt subsequent lessons accordingly.

6. Assessment and Student Support

I assess students' progress through quizzes, assignments, numerical problems, graphical exercises, and discussions. For econometrics and statistics, I focus on calculation, analytical reasoning, and the interpretation of results. For microeconomics and development economics, I emphasize theoretical understanding, diagrammatic analysis, critical thinking, and real-world applications.

I provide additional explanations and practice exercises when students find a topic difficult. By using Zoom's interactive features alongside the digital blackboard, I aim to maintain student engagement and provide a supportive online learning experience.

Conclusion

My teaching approach combines careful lesson planning, subject-specific teaching strategies, Zoom-based interaction, and the effective use of a digital blackboard. These tools enable me to explain mathematical equations, statistical calculations, economic models, graphs, and theoretical concepts in a clear and systematic manner. Through interactive teaching, practical examples, regular assessment, and continuous feedback, I aim to help students develop a strong understanding of econometrics, statistics, microeconomics, and development economics while improving their analytical and problem-solving skills.
