Hi! My name is Henry, and I’m an NYC-based writer and English tutor with degrees from Brown University in English and linguistics.
With years of experience working with children and young adults, I help younger students develop a deep understanding of English spelling and grammar beyond rote memorization. For older students, I focus on structuring their written work and crafting compelling college essays that effectively showcase their story and voice.
Using my linguistics background, I help students grasp the reasons behind grammar and spelling rules. I work through homework problems with them and create additional exercises to reinforce their understanding.
Leveraging my English degree, I tutor students in English and history essay writing. I discuss texts with students to help them develop their theses, and I guide them through outlining and drafting. When working on college essays, I meet with students to brainstorm illustrative topics and create memorable essays that put their best foot forward to increase their chances of gaining admission to selective schools.
