About Rae

I am a dedicated Flute tutor with 16 years of teaching and practical experience. During these years, I have had the opportunity to teach many students from school to college. Every student has a different learning style, and I enjoy helping each one discover their own musical journey. My biggest goal is not only to teach flute but also to help students become confident, disciplined, and creative individuals.

I believe that music is a language that brings happiness and connects people. That is why I create lessons that are simple, enjoyable, and easy to understand. I explain every topic step by step, from holding the flute correctly and producing a clear tone to learning scales, rhythm, breathing techniques, finger placement, and expressive performance. I make sure students understand the basics before moving to advanced skills.

Over the past 16 years, I have helped beginners take their first steps in music and supported intermediate students in improving their technique and confidence. Seeing students perform in school events, competitions, and personal recitals has been one of the most rewarding milestones in my teaching career. Their progress motivates me to continue learning and improving as a teacher.

I also encourage students to listen to different styles of music, develop good practice habits, and enjoy the learning process without fear of making mistakes. My lessons are interactive, patient, and supportive, allowing students to ask questions freely and learn at a comfortable pace.

Besides flute, I can also help students with music theory, ear training, sight reading, rhythm practice, performance preparation, and basic music appreciation. My aim is to build strong musical foundations that students can use throughout their lives. Whether you are learning for school, exams, performances, or personal interest, I will guide you with patience, encouragement, and dedication to help you achieve your musical goals.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology for flute combines adaptability, flexibility, collaboration, and a positive mindset to create a balanced learning experience.

I focus on helping students master essential techniques such as breath control, tone development, and finger coordination. These are practised through structured exercises and musical pieces.

I remain flexible in my teaching, adjusting lessons to match each student’s pace and comfort level. Collaboration plays an important role, as I encourage students to actively participate and express their ideas.

I maintain a supportive and positive atmosphere, helping students stay motivated and confident. In addition to flute, I also guide students in music theory and rhythm for a deeper understanding of music.
