About Roshan

I am a passionate flute tutor with 7 years of teaching experience and around 150 students successfully trained across different skill levels. I work with beginners, intermediate learners, and advanced students, focusing on structured and steady progress. My teaching approach begins with building strong fundamentals such as breath control, embouchure formation, posture correction, tone clarity, and finger coordination.

Once students gain confidence in these basics, I introduce articulation techniques, scale practice, rhythm training, and expressive performance pieces. I believe that patience and consistency are essential in music education, so I guide students with clear demonstrations and step-by-step explanations.

I also provide effective practice strategies that help students improve faster outside class. My unique strength lies in identifying small technical errors early and correcting them with focused exercises.

I maintain a positive, disciplined, and motivating environment where students feel comfortable learning and growing. My goal is to nurture confident, technically skilled, and expressive flute players who truly enjoy their musical journey.

About the lesson

My flute teaching methodology focuses on holistic musical development, adaptability, collaboration, and positivity. I aim to develop technically skilled and expressive musicians who also understand the theory and structure of music.

Lessons start with building strong fundamentals in posture, breath control, embouchure, tone, and finger technique. Students practise scales, articulation exercises, and rhythm drills, progressing gradually to more advanced techniques, expressive phrasing, and dynamic interpretation.

Alongside practical training, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and rhythm comprehension. This integrated approach ensures students gain a well-rounded understanding of music.

Flexibility allows me to customise lessons to the student’s level, interests, and goals—whether for exams, performances, or personal enrichment. Collaboration is encouraged through shared repertoire, open discussion, and goal-setting.

I maintain a positive and motivating learning environment where students feel comfortable experimenting and improving. My goal is to foster confident, disciplined, and passionate flute players who enjoy a lifelong musical journey.
