Perfect! Sam is one of the best teachers I've ever had the pleasure of working with. She's so genuinely kind and supportive; I started with a lot of anxiety around the potential of failure when learning new things, but Sam combats that with ease and makes me feel really comfortable.
I'm also learning a lot from her lifelong experience in music, and wide breadth of knowledge on how the body affects that and how to use it effectively. It's all really interesting and she makes it easy with diagrams and techniques that demonstrate things easily to me.
As well as that, Sam provides me with as much extra learning as I ask for in the time between lessons and is very open and helpful in general. I could never recommend her enough! :)- Alex is a joy to coach! We have a great rapport. She’s hugely talented & is a natural singer! Alex works hard & rehearses the songs & technique exercises I give her. I look forward to working with her more in the New Year.See the response Samantha :

She has a wealth of singing knowledge and talent all of which helped me to no end. I can’t thank her enough for her advice and guidance. As well as this, she is one of the most genuine, gorgeously kind, warm and intelligent teachers… would recommend her to everyone and anyone. Thank you a thousand times Sam.

Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
Samantha is very good teacher, gentle, responsive and very professional. She knows how to help my daughter open up and raise her voice just after one lesson.
From the moment you meet Samantha, she's welcoming, warm and friendly, putting you completely at ease. She's very approachable, but also extremely knowledgable and - thanks to a level of training not many people have - is able to offer helpful, practical advice on how to improve your singing. She will help you better understand all the factors that will enable you to make better sounds, from posture to breathing to how you think about your performance. Samantha is kind, encouraging and patient, but will also push you to develop and progress. I had a good feeling about learning and working with Samantha from first meeting her and I highly recommend her skills as a mentor and teacher.
I have been studying for many years with Samantha, singing in her group’s concerts and appearing in musical theatre with her. I have watched her helping so many students over the years. They range from young people who want to develop their abilities to audition for stage schools to adults who wants to sing for pleasure, aspiring drag artists and others who want to improve their performance as a “lead” character in a forthcoming production.
She has many years stage experience, having performed numerous main parts in popular musicals and is able to pass on the necessary voice development and confidence needed to suit the student’s requirements. This ability to be a “student led” tutor comes from the innate ability to analyse what is required for each student, to improve not only the technical production of one’s voice, but also confidence and performance skills. She is an empathetic and kind teacher, even unlocking mental barriers which have blocked a student’s voice production. I highly recommend her.Sam helped build my confidence and technique whilst I was singing with her, she provided me with great opportunities and helped me to become the professional singer I am today, I highly recommend her!
I highly recommend Samantha as a knowledgeable and expert performance (Singing) teacher and coach. I have worked with Samantha for a number of years and she really gets results using both her academic knowledge of vocal pedagogy (Masters level) and practical experience as a performer/singer, so each lesson combines theory with practical application meaning you leave with a clear idea of what you can do to practice and improve your performance. Aside from that Samantha makes each lesson fun and engaging because of her own personality and cheery disposition.
I started lessons with Sam when I was 16 years old and had just been cast in my first school musical, Jesus Christ Superstar. In my first lesson, we worked on "Gethsemane," a number from the musical, and I was hooked. Sam not only gave me exercises and techniques to build my voice but also worked hard with me to go deeper into interpreting text and committing to acting through song. I did the school musical, continued to perform in various amateur productions and, through working with Sam, the improvement in my singing in the following two years was remarkable. We worked on grounding the voice through deep breath support, singing more vertically and, after 10 months of lessons, decided to work on some opera. After another 6 months, I was accepted into the Guildhall School of Music and Drama to study classical voice.
Now, 12 years since our first lesson, I have worked for numerous professional companies, including Opera Holland Park, Grange Park Opera, English National Ballet, and Grange Park Opera, and am now finalizing my development at the Dutch National Opera Academy. Sam is an inspiring teacher who knows how to build voices from the ground up and empower her students to act through song while creating an enjoyable and relaxed working environment. I still rely on the fundamentals that Sam instilled in me, and if I hadn't studied with her, I wouldn't be a professional opera singer today. I can't recommend her highly enough. As I write this, I’ve been working with Sam for a little over a year now. In that time my vocal strength and control has significantly increased as has my range. Sam uses a combination of technical knowledge and her extensive practical experience to help you find the best version of your voice and accompanying style for each song within your rep. During my time with Sam, she’s helped me find a music genre that really suits my voice, create a set and, importantly, how to ‘perform’ the songs not just sing them.
To further support my performances, Sam has created a range of personalised warm-up exercises for me using her trademark Shay Ah’s and Ya-Ya’s, which lean on the Italian vowels, crucial to stabilising my breath and promote articulation before I hit the stage.Every single lesson I have with Samantha, she continues to teach me something new that helps to improve my singing and my understanding of vocal anatomy. She clearly has an astounding and endless amount of knowledge that she passionately shares in our lessons! Working with Samantha is quick paced too, we tend to go through 1 or 2 songs each lesson, focusing on songs I need for auditions and college work to help me feel confident and secure. She helps me apply minor corrections that transform my technique while also working with me on acting through song to improve not only my singing but my overall performance; I can't recommend Samantha enough.
I have known and worked with Sam for a number of years. I initially came to her as a non singer and she encouraged me to find more and more confidence in my voice. This enabled me to sing in public and successfully take on principal roles. Samantha is always friendly and approachable and has a down to earth attitude that encourages the best from her students. Her knowledge of the practical necessities of vocalisation together with her performance oriented insight means that I have a solid base to draw upon and would not hesitate to seek her support.I have worked with Sam for over 40 years first as a brilliant performer and for the last 20 years as a vocal coach and singing teacher , i can really recommend very highly .i have witnessed first hand how she can take a singer and turn them into an amazing one . She can even do miracles with most non singers , What makes her different is she totally understands the art of performance as well as supporting fabulous technique. Samantha is an outstanding vocal coach! She has a wealth of knowledge and knows how to bring the best out of a student. She has worked with us for many years to support our son through live performances, auditions and vocal technique - Parent
“Absolutely brilliant!” - Toby B, 16She is an amazing teacher, very patient and encouraging. I was someone who said ' I can't sing' she proved me wrong.

A very kind and lovely woman who I can’t recommend enough. The mfr the lessons work for me and explained things in a way that were tailed to me :)
Sam is not only a fantastic opera singer but a fantastic teacher too. I started working with her in 2008 and adhoc since. She is very professional, patient, encouraging and knowledgeable. Whether you are just starting out or have been singing professionally for years, Sam will guide you every step of the way and taylor the lesson to your needs.
Samantha has a way with people and an uncanny knack of knowing exactly where your difficulties are within your voice and how to deal with it. This comes from years of experience working with people from all walks of life and her specialised knowledge within her field.
She makes you feel comfortable and gives you confidence no matter what level you are at. I have had the privilege of seeing her work with others. She also works specifically with your individual voice and your needs and range rather than trying to make your voice fit within a method. I have been working as a pro performer for well over 20 years and I won't go to anyone else for singing advice. She's the best I have experienced.Samantha is an inspiring singing tutor. She has helped me to sing with confidence, extending my range and style of songs, working on performance and vocal technique. She is thorough, caring, patient, while full of fun. I would highly recommend her to anyone wishing to learn how to sing.
Sam has been my singing teacher for over a year now and my voice has definitely improved due to her knowledge and ability to get the best out of my voice and she has given me the confidence to audition for lead roles so I highly recommend her , I always look forward to our weekly lesson and she is such a lovely person too , if you want to have the best singing voice then Sam is for you x
Samantha is an expert in vocal pedagogy. She has helped me with repertoire, finessing solo pieces for shows, extending my vocal range, increased my power taking me from a whispery lyrical tenor to an opera singer.
I’ve known Samantha for almost 10 years. I met her on the Isle of Wight as a vocal coach of a local chorus and later was invited to join another group of hers with soloists.
I moved to Brighton in 2019 and I continued to have lessons with her over FaceTime. Samantha relocated to Brighton and I then resumed lessons in person at her home in Ovingdean.
I am a soloist in her Falmer based group “Singers on Sunday” which she runs with our longtime mutual friend Jason Pimblett - as well a master class workshop. Both sessions are thoroughly enjoyable and suitable for all levels of learning.
I would highly recommend Samantha to anyone wanting to begin or enhance their singing journey.View more recommendations
