About Ivan
I am a native Portuguese speaker from Rio de Janeiro, which means I have a 'Carioca' accent when speaking my mother tongue! I am a high-level English speaker (near C1 level) and I have also had the opportunity to work with students from Portugal, giving me a good understanding of European Portuguese. As a tutor, I am friendly, respectful, and very attentive to my students' needs. I prioritize creating a comfortable and safe environment in my classes, as I believe students learn best when they feel at ease to speak and make mistakes. My goal is to be a supportive mentor on your learning journey.

I have experience teaching both beginners and students who already have some knowledge of the language. My main focus is on conversation and natural communication, helping you feel more confident in real-life situations.
I believe that the best way to learn is through content that matters to you. That’s why, in our first class, I like to conduct a brief and friendly interview to get to know your profile, interests, and goals. This is an essential step for me to plan personalized lessons that truly fit your needs.
