About Choice

My name is Choice, and I’m a passionate braiding coach, natural haircare educator, and founder of StyledbyChoice. With over 11 years of experience in Afro-textured hairstyling, I’ve had the honour of training dozens of students and working with clients across all hair types and backgrounds. What sets me apart is not just my technique, but my deep commitment to helping others grow, whether it’s their first time holding a comb or their next step toward becoming a pro stylist. I believe hairstyling is more than just skill; it’s identity, confidence, and opportunity. I’ve created safe, inspiring spaces both online and in-person for learners to gain real skills, explore their creativity, and unlock the confidence to style for themselves or for others. My approach is calm, structured, and completely beginner-friendly, with personal guidance every step of the way. Whether you're 10 or 40 years, a total beginner or someone reigniting your passion, I meet you where you are, and help you get to where you want to be. My goal is to equip you with the techniques, tools, and mindset to not just braid beautifully, but thrive with purpose.

About the lesson

I’ve been in the industry for 11+ years, working with clients and students of all ages and skill levels. I train learners from age 10 and above, and adapt my teaching based on your goal, whether it's for DIY haircare, side hustle income, or building a professional hairstyling brand. My teaching style is hands-on, encouraging, and tailored to each learner’s needs. I guide you through every technique, from parting and grip to full braid execution: with a calm, structured approach that builds confidence from day one. I teach protective styles like knotless braids, cornrows, twists, faux locs, and more. You’ll also learn about scalp care, product use, styling tips, and how to work confidently with different hair types and textures. Lessons are typically 1 to 6 hours and available as one-off sessions or part of a full training programme. I also provide practice guidance and post-lesson support to help you improve between classes. My lessons are available online or in-person, and I support all levels: beginner, intermediate, or returning stylists. Whatever your journey, I’ll meet you where you are and help you grow step-by-step. With every class, you’ll gain real skill, real confidence, and clear direction all while learning in a positive, empowering space. Let’s make every lesson a step toward your growth in skill, income, and purpose.
